PRIEST RANCH 2010 CABERNET SAUVIGNON SOMERSTON ESTATE - NAPA VALLEY 750ML

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Priest Ranch is a dark, brooding beauty. Black currants, cassis, melted road tar and mocha all flesh out in this gorgeous, brooding wine. There is plenty of vintage 2010 structure in the glass, yet at the same time the sheer intensity of the fruit makes the wine surprisingly accessible at this stage. Violets and sweet spices add lift on the polished finish. There is a pretty good chance the 2010 will put on weight in the bottle. If that happens, this note will look conservative. The 2010 is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Craig Becker heads up winemaking for both the Somerston and Priest Ranch labels. This year I was particularly impressed by the Priest Ranch Cabernets because of the superb value they offer.
