Floral berry and currant aromas carry over to the palate. Tight and focused, this shows early signs of complexity, offering fine depth and length.
"Combines rich, savory herb, dried currant, hazelnut and tobacco with mineral and cedary oak. Full-bodied, firm and structured, yet showing signs of suppleness in texture. 3,200 cases made."
Winemaker Notes - Piero Antinori's Napa Valley Cabernet project is definitely gaining steam with its latest release of the 2006 Cabernet. 100% Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon from Atlas Peak's 24-acre Townsend Vineyard, planted at an elevation of 1460 feet in the volcanic soil series Perkins Gravelly Loam, and its aged in new French oak barrels. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon offers pure, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon fruit centered on currant and unfolding to blackberry and black cherry flavors. The palate offers fullbodied richness and power, with a persistent display of freshness in the smooth and lingering finish.
